NBPA works tirelessly to eliminate the academic achievement gap between black students and their white, Asian and Hispanic counterparts.Our efforts is based on the strong belief that every child is educable, valuable and can excel with the right support. The problem of boys and girls dropping out of high school before graduation is a national crisis. Since 1990, the U.S. Department of Education has recognized the failure of finishing high school as a national phenomenon, which warrants much attention.  Researchers all agree that the problem is complex and multifaceted but that is no reason to ignore the problem given the tremendous ramifications for the dropout and society as a whole.
